Pennridge falls to Central Bucks East

PERKASIE - After Pennridge and Central Bucks East scored on the first three drives of the game last Friday, Poppy Yoder Field had the feel of a shootout in the making. The scoring went back and forth and with three minutes remaining the Patriots ran right at the Rams' defense and came back to win 45-35.
That fourth quarter comeback was led by the tough running of Patriots' captain Devon Passman. Passman churned up 158 yards and three touchdowns, the biggest being the last score.
Jesse Knepp's big plays in the first quarter sparked the Rams' offense, but the Patriots tightened up in the second half. Knepp had 144 yards in the first half and four yards in the second half. He did account for three touchdowns of the Ram's five touchdowns.
The Pats continue to come together and Kyle Bernard, who has made the switch from middle linebacker to quarterback, leads a balance offense. Bernard completed passes to eight different receivers for 269 yards and two scores through the air.
The Rams are in every game until the final ticks, but have struggled to finish the last three weeks. Pennridge not being able to come up with a stop on defense with time expiring is the key factor this week.
