North Catholic topples Pennridge

PHILADELPHIA - Last Friday the Rams took a step back against the stingy North Catholic defense. The Falcons came out fired up and ready to bring the Rams back down to earth after their 3-0 start with a 28-14 win.

Eugene Byrd kept that Rams' defense on the field, fatiguing quickly with the time. Byrd was a workhorse carrying the ball 35 times for 177 and three scores.

The Falcons did an excellent job stopping the Rams' running threats. After three weeks of more than 200 yards rushing, the Rams had 33 yards on the ground at the half and 102 for the game.

Ian Walbridge's eight-yard swing catch out of the backfield gave the Rams hope, but Daniel Clark's big three-yard run sealed Pennridge's fate.

The Rams will have to no time to mope around, as they'll have to get back to work on Monday to prepare for cross-town rival, Souderton.
